Stankovic and goals against Castellazzi

Scorer of 50 goals for Italian clubs, Dejan Stankovic counts Castellazzi as one of his favourite targets with four goals in matches against the Sampdoria keeper. Stankovic has also put four goals past Ballotta, Ferron and Strakosha.

Samp equal negative record

With 4 draws and 10 defeats from their last 14 Serie A matches, Sampdoria have equalled the club's record of 14 matches without a league win set in 1968/69 when they drew 7 and lost 7. Samp 4-2 Messina on 12 February 2006 was the Blucerchiati's last league win.

Blucerchiati unbeaten away in five games

Sampdoria's last away defeat was a 2-1 reverse at Empoli last 9 April. Since that date the Genoan side have played five league and cup matches on the road, winning three and drawing two.

Samp attack prolific in September

Blucerchiati strikers Bonazzoli (11 out of 53) and Quagliarella (6 out of 30) have scored more Italian league goals in September than any other month. Franceschini is also a likely scorer in the ninth calendar month, with 4 of his 20 goals in September. The midfielder has also scored four in January matches.

MILAN - Inter held Sampdoria to a 1-1 draw in their first home league match of the season, with Bonanni turning into his own net after Flachi converted a penalty kick.

Roberto Mancini made five changes to the team that lost to Sporting in midweek, handing a start to Julio Cesar in goal and recalling Zanetti and Materazzi in defence. Gonzalez replaced Figo on the wing with Crespo partnering Ibrahimovic up front in place of Adriano.

It was one-way traffic for much of the ninety, Brazilian wing-back Maicon producing Inter's first chance on goal after 18 minutes when his header from a Stankovic cross was saved by Castellazzi.

Maicon went close again four minutes later when the Samp keeper saved his follow-up after parrying an angled shot from Ibrahimovic.

Castellazzi pulled off more heroics before the break, keeping out Crespo's close-range effort from Ibra's headed assist. The Argentine was presented with another chance soon after but failed to connect with Gonzalez' pass from Ibrahimovic's splendid backheeled through ball.

Sampdoria broke the deadlock from the penalty spot on 48 minutes when Flachi blasted past Julio Cesar after being brought down by Cordoba.

From then on Inter launched an all-out assault on the Blucerchiati goal. Ibrahimovic headed a Gonzalez cross narrowly wide then flashed a low shot behind before Patrick Vieira had a volley ruled out for offside.

Inter's perseverance paid off on 80 minutes when Bonanni headed a Figo corner into his own net, and the Nerazzurri could have snatched a winner when second-half sub Adriano headed in but had his effort disallowed for pushing an opponent.
