EINTRACHT FRANKFURT VS. INTER, STATS AND TRIVIA

MILAN – After Inter’s great victory at the Round of 32 stage against Rapid Vienna, Spalletti’s men will face Eintracht in Frankfurt on Thursday 7 March at 18:55 CET in the last 16 of the UEFA Europa League. We’ve teamed up with Opta to provide you with all the stats and trivia ahead of the first-leg clash.

Inter will be playing Eintracht for the first time in European competition. The German side have faced an Italian team on four occasions, losing only once in Germany. This defeat came against Palermo, who won 2-1 in Frankfurt.

Eintracht Frankfurt have conceded in the past five competitive games they’ve played against Italian sides after not having let in a goal in the four matches prior to this (including two matches in the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup).

The last away win on German soil for Inter was in 2011, when the Nerazzurri came back to defeat Bayern Munich 3-2 at the Allianz Arena in the last 16 of the Champions League.

Inter are playing at the Round of 16 stage of European competition for the first time since 2014/15, when they were knocked out of the Europa League by German side Wolfsburg.

Matteo Politano has found the back of the net twice in his last three games for Inter in all competitions, the same amount as he had scored in the 31 matches prior to this.

Eintracht Frankfurt have only lost one of their previous 21 games played in Europe (14 wins and six draws). This was a 4-2 defeat against Maccabi Tel Aviv in November 2013. The team from Germany are unbeaten in their last 12 (nine wins and three draws).

Adi Hütter’s side have scored the most goals (23 from eight matches) in this season’s Europa League. Their strikers have been prolific: Luka Jovic (six goals and an assist) and Sebastien Haller (five goals and three assists) have contributed to 15 of those goals.
