CHIEVO VS. INTER: STATS AND TRIVIA

MILAN - It’s the final fixture ahead of Christmas Day and the Nerazzurri’s return to action on Boxing Day with the Nerazzurri set to visit the Stadio Bentegodi on Saturday 23rd December to take on Chievo Verona. Together with Opta, here are all the stats and pieces of trivia for the match.

It’s the 33rd meeting in Serie A between Chievo and Inter. The Nerazzurri have won 20, there have been five Chievo wins and seven draws. Inter have won all of the last three Serie A clashes against Chievo with a goal difference of 10-2, including the 5-0 win in the first encounter of last season. Inter have kept clean sheets in 15 of 32 matches against Chievo in Serie A.

Ivan Perisic has scored five goals in his last three against the Verona side although the Croatian hasn’t scored in his last twelve in the league and he could match his longest goalless run since he went 13 without hitting the back of the net between 2015 and 2016. Perisic’s only Serie A hat-trick came against Chievo during the 5-0 triumph in December 2017, he had eight shots in that match which is the most that he’s taken in the Italian top flight.

Mauro Icardi has scored five goals from his last six appearances against Chievo in Serie A and he’s found the net with nine of his last eleven shots on target in the league. Six of Icardi’s nine goals this season have come on the road, the Argentine has never finished a Serie A season with more away than home goals. With one goal more, Icardi will hit 120 in Serie A, going level with Cristiano Lucarelli in 50th place in the all-time scoring charts.

All of Inter’s last six league goals have involved either Icardi or Keita. Keita Balde made his Serie A debut against Chievo in September 2013 and he’s scored two goals from seven matches against the Verona outfit. Antonio Candreva has scored four goals in Serie A. Antonio Candreva has scored four Serie A goals against Chievo, only against Inter (5) has he scored more. Stefan de Vrij’s first goal in Serie A came at the Bentegodi against Chievo in September 2016. Radja Nainggolan’s first of three red cards came at the Bentegodi against Chievo for Cagliari in February 2010.

Luciano Spalletti has won three of his last four managerial match-ups against Domenico Di Carlo in Serie A with the other ending in stalemate. Spalletti has won nine of his 17 matches as a Coach against Chievo in Serie A, he has also drawn seven and lost one.

Chievo will be without the suspended Radovanovic and Inter will be without Asamoah.
