NIZHNY NOVGOROD - During a game of rollercoaster emotions, Brozovic and Perisic’s Croatia side triumphed on penalties in their round of 16 fixture against Denmark.
Marco and Ivan both started on Sunday, playing 71 and 79 minutes respectively. The game ended 1-1 after normal time thanks to goals from Jorgensen and Mandzukic, with Modric missing from the spot late on in extra-time.
Penalties were duly needed, with saves from Subasic helping Croatia reach the quarter-finals where they will now take on Russia. They progressed from the round of 16 this afternoon after beating Spain also on penalties.
