WOMEN'S UNDER-12 SIDE WIN THE DANONE NATIONS CUP

The Under-12s led by Paolo Lupo Pasini won in the national finals held at Coverciano

COVERCIANO - The Inter Under-12s coached by Paolo Lupo Pasini won the Danone Nations Cup that began at the end of March. The result showed the good work being done in female football by Inter since Miro Keci took over as co-ordinator a year ago, with the team consequently qualifying for the World finals that'll be played in Spain next year.

The journey started with two wins over Fiammamonza before qualification to the next round in a group along with Cagliari, Brescia and Codogno. Thanks to wins over Atalanta, Milan and Cagliari, the side progressed to the final interregional round against Palermo, Hellas Verona and Padova. Three wins from three took Pasini’s side to Coverciano for the national finals. Torino, Livorno and Roma were the opponents there as the girls finished first.

In Coverciano, Inter started with a draw against Torino thanks to a goal from Sofia Boldrini. In the next game against Roma, a goal by Giulia Dragno saw the Nerazzurre take three points for the first time on the day. Giulia Dragoni played a big role again with a hat-trick in the decisive match against Livorno that also saw Boldrini and Di Cataldo find the net in a fantastic win. Thanks to these results, the Women’s Under-12 won the Danone Nations Cup.
