BOLOGNA - It finished 1-1 between Bologna and Inter at the Campo Comunale Cavina. The Rossoblu took the lead through a 19th minute goal by Brignani before Emmers equalised in the 76th minute. Inter finished second behind Atalanta in the league on 58 points. On 5/6th June, the Final Four will take part in Reggio Emilia with Inter already in the semi-finals.
The match got off to a lively start with the home side looking to take the initiative while the Nerazzurri played on the break. Bologna were very positive with numbers in midfield and attacks down the flanks. It was from one of these attacks where El Kaouakibi headed in from a Pattarello cross in the 19th minute to make it 1-0.
The first real chance for Inter was in the 32nd minute when a one-two between Merola and D’Amico saw the former fire just wide of Ravaglia’s left post. Inter went close again in the 35th minute with Zaniolo firing narrowly wide.
In the second half, Vecchi brought Emmers on for the injured Danso. Inter started very well and almost levelled through Merola who saw a shot blocked in the area. Pattarello went close to making it 2-0 but Dekic was decisive to keep him out. Merola applied pressure in the 62nd minute by running into the box but the goalkeeper put his effort out for a corner.
The equaliser came in the 76th minute after some brilliant work by Xian Emmers to run around two players and the shot went in after taking a deflection. It was a deserved result for Inter who also had a chance to win late on when Merola hit the bar from a free kick.
The reigning champions of Italy can now focus on the semi-finals which Atalanta have also already qualified for. Roma, Torino, Fiorentina and Juventus will be in the playoff to determine who else competes for the Primavera 1 TIM title.
