MILAN - Following their
emphatic win over Udinese,
Luciano Spalletti’s Inter side will continue their hunt for Champions League qualification on Saturday at 20:45 CEST. Giuseppe Iachini’s Sassuolo will be their opponents at San Siro, in what will be the Nerazzurri’s penultimate fixture of the Serie A season.
The
first game between the two sides, played out in Reggio Emilia on December 23rd, saw Inter fall to their second defeat of the campaign. A goal from Diego Falcinelli ultimately settled the encounter, with the away side crucially missing many chances - particularly that of a penalty from
Mauro Icardi at the start of the second half. Currently, Sassuolo (fresh from their 1-0 home win against Sampdoria),
occupy 12th place on 40 points, having recorded 10 wins, 10 draws and 16 defeats. They’ve so far scored 27 goals and conceded 57.
Inter vs. Sassuolo will be
refereed by Rosario Abisso from Palermo. He’ll be assisted by Del Giovane and Prenna, while La Penna will be the fourth official. VAR operators: Di Bello and Crispo.
As of 15:00 CEST on Friday 11th May, you’ll be able to watch Luciano Spalletti’s press conference live from the Suning Training Centre at Appiano Gentile on Inter’s
official YouTube channel.
