INTER ACADEMY INDONESIA INAUGURATED

The project offering high-quality coaching to youngsters and local coaches will see FC Internazionale Milano working in partnership with PERSIB

BANDUNG – Inter Academy Indonesia was launched in Bandung today, heralding the first step towards creating a first-class youth development programme for coaches and young footballers across the country.

The first stage of Inter Academy Indonesia will see Nerazzurri coaches sharing FC Internazionale’s coaching methodology and expertise with young players and coaching staff of the Elite Teams in PERSIB Bandung’s youth academy. The youngsters will thus have the opportunity to develop their skills by taking part in training sessions of the highest technical standard within their own country – the ideal setting for them to mature both as footballers and individuals.

The training of local coaches is an integral part of the project, since they are the ones who interact with the youngsters on a daily basis. This is the only way to create a set-up capable of developing youth football on a truly global level.

“All children like to play football and I'm very happy that – thanks to Inter Academy sharing its technical knowledge and promoting healthy values – it is now easier for boys and girls in Indonesia to nurture their dreams,” said Inter vice-president Javier Zanetti.

“Inter Academy’s aim is to share coaching methodology and train coaches and children in their own countries while respecting international football rules and maintaining high moral standards.

“This is an important step forward for the development of the game in Indonesia, a country which has always had a very passionate Nerazzurri following.”

Inter coaches will be on site to support the local coaches and coordinate activities for the youngsters, aged 10 to 16. Inter Academy head coach Andrea Ratti will initiate operations while Claudio Brambilla will remain in Indonesia as the first permanent coach.
