Ahead of Sunday’s match at the Meazza, here are all the stats that you need to know: Serie A records for Icardi, Candreva, Handanovic

MILAN - Domestic action will resume for Inter this Sunday, with an exciting encounter against Di Francesco’s Roma side at the San Siro. In collaboration with Opta, here are all the statistics prior to the match.

This upcoming encounter will be the 170th ever clash between Inter and Roma in Serie A, with the Nerazzurri so far having recorded 72 wins compared to Roma’s 49. There have also been a total of 48 draws. In terms of the last eight matches between the two in Serie A, there has been a perfect balance of three wins apiece and also two draws.

Mauro Icardi has scored 51.4 percent of Inter’s goals this season (18 out of 35), which is a record percentage in the top five European leagues this season. Icardi is also just one goal away from his tally of 100 in Serie A. Should he score in this match, he will be the sixth youngest ever player to reach this landmark. The youngest ever is currently José Altafini. Icardi has bagged five goals in nine Serie A matches against Roma, four of which came in his last four matches (a brace in the most recent fixture).

As for Ivan Perisic, he’s recorded one goal and three assists in four league appearances against Roma. Two of his assists came in the Nerazzurri’s last league game against the Giallorossi, setting up goals for both Icardi and Vecino. Antonio Candreva has so far created 62 chances for his teammates in Serie A this season and also provided eight assists. These are both league records for this current campaign.

Alisson (80 percent) and Samir Handanovic (78 percent) are the two goalkeepers with the best save percentage rates this season, while they are both also among the players who’ve made most appearances in Serie A so far.

Juan Jesus will be this weekend’s former Nerazzurri face, as he featured for Inter from 2012 to 2016. During this time he made a total of 110 appearances and scored just one goal. Prior to joining Inter, Luciano Spalletti had only coached Roma in Serie A as of 2005, taking charge of the club on two different occasions (2005-2009 and 2016-2017). Spalletti has won four out of 14 matches (two draws and eight defeats) when coming up against Roma as a coach in Serie A, which does include the previous game from this season.
