PRIMAVERA 1 TIM: SASSUOLO 1-2 INTER

Goals from Zaniolo and Belkheir in the first half see the Nerazzurri return home with the points

SASSUOLO - 2017 finished with a valuable win for the Nerazzurri’s Primavera side away at Sassuolo on matchday 14. At the Stadio Enzo Ricci where they won the Scudetto back in June, the Inter Under-19s won 2-1 thanks to Zaniolo and Belkheir goals to secure the ninth win in the first half of the season.

The intentions of Stefano Vecchi’s team were clear from the start. After ten minutes without any big chances, Emmers looked to break the deadlock in the 13th minute after being set up by Zaniolo but his shot was saved by Marson who tipped it wide as he dived to reach it. The Nerazzurri upped the tempo and Rada had a chance to score five minutes later. The Albanian born in 1999 timed his run perfectly but his shot was miraculously saved by the home goalkeeper. There was a chance for Sassuolo in the 27th minute but Pissardo came out perfectly to deny Raspadori on a one-on-one. In the 31st minute, Zaniolo came up with the winning touch after Belkheir’s feint from an Emmers free kick. Then, Belkheir found the net in the 38th minute after Valietti touched it on from a free kick by the usual suspect Emmers.

After the break, Lombardoni and co started with the momentum as Odgaard then had a chance to make it three with a shot that went just wide of Marson’s goal. A mix-up in the Inter box in the 54th minute reopened the match as Kolaj made the most of a rebound to turn in past Pissardo. The second half remained extremely balanced at the Stadio Ricci. Inter managed the lead well without risking much as Sassuolo looked to find an equaliser. The last piece of drama in the match came as Colidio almost scored a wondergoal after nutmegging Celia after he received the ball in midfield. After four minutes of stoppage time, Camplone blew his whistle and the Nerazzurri left with the result. The next fixture for Stefano Vecchi’s side will be in 2018 against Roma on Sunday 7th January at 14:30 CET at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in the Supercoppa Primavera TIM.
