MILAN - Javier Zanetti attended a special event for the PUPI Foundation on Wednesday, as they both celebrated the annual Christmas ‘Charity Gala Dinner’. This took place in Milan and included a lot of people who’ve helped contribute to the project’s success. Speaking to journalists at the event, Zanetti said: “It is an important week for both the foundation and also for Inter. Saturday will obviously be an important encounter, but not decisive. We will need character and enthusiasm. We will head to Turin to win.
“The squad has great potential, with precise values and an experienced coach. Spalletti is working with humility and is bringing with him ideas and enthusiasm. The lads follow him and he is creating a fantastic squad. Everyone feels important and so far the results out on the pitch and have spoken for themselves. This team works incredibly well on a daily basis. Candreva and Perisic are always running plenty of kilometres as they also help their teammates defensively. This shows the spirit that has been created. Everyone is heading in the same direction, together with the fans, who are also demonstrating their infinite desire for the shirt. There are certain things you need to consider when playing a great team like Juventus. You have to play with maturity, awareness and humility. Icardi? It is easy to talk about Mauro at the moment, but he is still improving. We are extremely happy to have him as a player and as our captain. He is delighted to be here and he knows how to represent this club.
“We must continue on this path. We have a lot of enthusiasm but there is still a long way to go in the league. Our players are aware of the decorated history behind Saturday’s match, although we’re preparing well, just as we’ve done in the other 15 matches this season.”
