SESTO SAN GIOVANNI (MI) - The Nerazzurri today began their 2017/18 Primavera TIM Cup campaign in the best possible fashion, with Stefano Vecchi’s side securing a 3-0 win over Novara at the Stadio Breda in the Round of 16.
The Nerazzurri started the match in clinical fashion, taking the lead in just the 15th minute through Pinamonti. The youthful attacked opened the scoring from the spot after Rover was initially fouled in the penalty area. Inter then doubled their lead in the 32nd minute, with Brignoli pushing the Nerazzurri further out in front thanks to a superb effort from the edge of the area. With continued pressure, Inter then made it three in the 36th minute, who finished well following a fine assist from Zappa.
Following the interval both teams had a number of chances to score, although neither were able to have any further impact on the final scoreline. A 3-0 win nows means that the Nerazzurri will feature in the quarter-finals on December 20th, facing off against either Atalanta or Udinese.
