INTER VS. ATALANTA: ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW

Inter move up to 33 points in the standings after 13 league games. No team has scored more headed goals this season

MILAN - Luciano Spalletti’s side got back to winning ways on Sunday evening, securing a 2-0 victory over Atalanta thanks to a brace from Mauro Icardi.

In collaboration with Opta, here are all the relevant stats from Sunday’s fixture:

  • Inter have collected 33 points from their opening 13 league matches this season: only once before have the Nerazzurri done better than this in Serie A history (34, back in 1950/51).
  • Inter have lost none of their last 15 Serie A matches (W12 D3): their longest unbeaten streak since February 2008.
  • Atalanta today failed to score in an away league match for the first time since December 2016, when they also failed to find the net at the Stadio San Siro, that time against AC Milan.
  • Inter (6) and Icardi (3) have scored the joint-most headers in Serie A this season.
  • Inter (10) have scored the most goals from crosses in Serie A this season.
  • Mauro Icardi has now netted six goals against Atalanta and has scored only more against Juventus (7) and Fiorentina (9) in the top Italian tier.
  • Six of Inter's eight shots were attempted by Icardi.
  • Inter have now not conceded before half time for the sixth game in a row, which is now their 10th overall match in Serie A this season.
