INTER VS. ATALANTA: STATS AND FACTS

In collaboration with Opta, here are all the stats that you need to know ahead of Sunday evening's match against La Dea

MILAN - Following the recent international break, Inter will now be back in action at the San Siro this Sunday, taking on Atalanta at 20:45 CET. Ahead of the match at the Meazza, here are all the relevant stats that you need to know, as provided in collaboration with Opta.

This will be the 113th ever fixture between the two teams in Serie A: Inter have triumphed on 61 occasions in comparison to Atalanta’s 23, with there are also being 28 draws. The most recent clash saw Atalanta for the first time in their history concede five first-half Serie A goals.

Inter are currently unbeaten in 14 matches in Serie A, which is their best streak since February 2008 (31 on that occasion). Since it has been three points for a win, this is the third time Inter have picked up at least 30 points in their first 12 league matches: they finished in second place during the 1997-98 campaign, while they won the Scudetto back in 2006-07.

This season only Immobile (10) has had more of an impact than Mauro Icardi (nine), in terms of points secured thanks to goals scored. One of Icardi’s four hat-tricks for Inter in Serie A previously came in his last match against Atalanta, which has also been his only perfect hat-trick in Serie A (right-foot, left-foot, header). In total, Icardi has scored four league goals in nine Nerazzurri appearances against the Bergamo outfit (all at the Meazza).

Eder has still not started a league game this season. Five of his 10 Inter goals, including his last one against Torino, have all been off the bench.

Ivan Perisic has only bagged one goal in his last eight league appearances, although he did score three in his first four matches of the Serie A season. Perisic has also provided five assists so far, with only Immobile recording more (six).

Antonio Candreva (37) is second in terms of goalscoring chances created for his team so far, (four assists), which is just one less than Lorenzo Insigne (38). As for Danilo D’Ambrosio, his first Serie A goal came during a 5-1 win for Torino against Atalanta back in September 2012.

As for former players, Roberto Gagliardini grew up within the Atalanta youth ranks, making his first 14 Serie A appearances with the Bergamo side prior to joining Inter back in January 2017.

Gagliardini scored his second and final goal for Atalanta during the match between the two sides last March.
