ZAGREB - Ivan Perisic and Marcelo Brozovic both edged their way ever closer to reaching the World Cup on Thursday evening, with their Croatia side securing an emphatic 4-1 win over Zlatko Dalic’s Greece at the Stadio Maksimir. This was the first leg of the World Cup playoff between the two teams, as they both seek to qualify for Russia 2018.
The Nerazzurri No.44 popped up with a precise header in the 33rd minute to make it 3-1 for Croatia, while the other three winning goals were scored by Modric, Kalinic and Kramaric. Meanwhile, Sokratis grabbed the only goal for Greece, who’ll now face an extremely tough task on Sunday evening.
Both Perisic and Brozovic started in a 4-2-3-1 formation on Thursday, each playing the full 90 minutes.
