BOLOGNA VS. INTER: STATS AND TRIVIA

Ahead of Tuesday's away match, here are the stats and trivia for the fixture at the Stadio Dall'Ara

MILAN - Inter will be back in action tomorrow evening against Bologna for matchday five of the Serie A TIM season and here are all the statistics that you need to know ahead of the game at the Stadio Dall’Ara.

In 141 top tier previous fixtures between the two teams, the Nerazzurri have recorded a total of 67 wins, 34 draws and 39 defeats. Meanwhile, in the last six league encounters, Bologna have failed to win a single game, drawing and losing three a piece. Furthermore, in the last 11 league fixtures at the Dall’Ara against Inter, Bologna have picked up just two points. Lastly, they’ve also failed to score in either of their most recent two home games against the Nerazzurri.

In the era of obtaining three points for a win, only in the 2015-16 campaign did Inter win their first five matches of the season. Taking into account results from the end of last year, the Nerazzurri are currently on a six-game winning streak in Serie A. In addition to this, Inter have also won their last three away games in Serie A. To make it four in a row would be a feat they haven’t achieved since November 2012. As for Bologna, they’ve lost seven of their last 11 home matches in Serie A, failing to score in five of these encounters.

In terms of their preferred timing, ten of Inter’s goals so far this season have came in the final 15 minutes of play. Only Napoli (9) have scored more goals than Inter (7) during the second half of matches this season. Meanwhile, the Nerazzurri are the only side to have scored two headed goals so far, while no one has conceded more than Bologna (2).

Mauro Icardi has scored three goals in a Nerazzurri shirt from four matches against Bologna. Furthermore, the Argentine centre-forward has scored five in his last four Serie A away matches. Since the start of 2017, Ivan Perisic has delivered ten assists and he’s top of the league with Dries Mertens in this.

Simone Verdi is the Bologna player with the most shots this season with ten. Antonio Candreva is the player who has attempted the most crosses this campaign (27) while Ivan Perisic is third (23). The next match will be Antonio Candreva’s 50th for Inter in all competitions. Milan Skriniar is the man who has completed the most defensive clearances in this Serie A season (16). Three of Danilo D’Ambrosio’s nine Serie A goals have come against Bologna and they are his preferred opponent in the top flight.

The great former player of the day is Rodrigo Palacio who has joined Bologna after five years as an Inter player. Overall, he scored 39 times from 140 appearances. Andrea Poli also played for the Nerazzurri, making 18 appearances in the 2011-12 season. Saphir Taider played 25 times for Inter scoring once, and Ibrahima Mbaye made four appearances in the 2014-15 season after coming through the Inter youth system.
