RISCONE DI BRUNICO – Borja Valero revealed his determination to become a crucial player for Inter as he appeared at a press conference at the Riscone di Brunico training centre on Wednesday afternoon.
"I want to be an important player both on and off the pitch," said the Spanish midfielder. "I have several years of experience in various different leagues and I’ve always been a regular no matter where I’ve gone. I hope I can make a contribution for Inter and help the many young players in the squad."
Valero also spoke of his gratitude for the lengths Inter went to in order to secure his signature.
"Inter did everything to bring me here and I want to repay their faith," he said. "I want to play my best football for this massive club. I’m a versatile player and I think I can play anywhere in midfield. [Luciano] Spalletti is a top coach – he’s proven that throughout his career."
The Spaniard was reluctant to talk about his targets for the season ahead, instead preferring to focus on the job at hand.
"It’s too early to speak about objectives," he insisted. "The squad is very competitive and there are some great players here. The coach will work hard to get us all pushing in the same direction and aiming to be successful."
