RISCONE DI BRUNICO - "It's a boyhood dream come true. I've always aspired to make it here." Daniele Padelli was naturally very excited at his unveiling in Riscone di Brunico. The keeper, 31, made no effort to hide his love for the Nerazzurri, even showing a picture on his smartphone from his younger days: "I had a sticker of Pagliuca at Inter when I was a kid and I covered it with my face and my name," he explained.
"There were other offers but this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me," he revealed. "I'm here to work hard and learn. I'm ready to go and I will give 100% every day in training as if I were going to start. I love this game so it's only natural I'll put my heart and soul into every session."
"I think it's too soon to talk about targets for the season," said Padelli when asked about Inter's aspirations for the new campaign. "We all know, however, that this is a big season for the club. I've been impressed with Spalletti's man management and his desire to take Inter back to the top. He will do everything he can to get us there but we have to do our bit too because ultimately it's the players who go out there. We all must give 100% to take Inter back to where the club belongs."
Finally, a word on his team-mate between the sticks: "I'm pleased to work with Handanovic again. He's a consummate professional with a good head on his shoulders. He works very hard on a daily basis and the results are there for all to see. It's nice working with him because I think I can learn a lot. He's one of the best keepers in Europe and he impresses me more every day."
