SAN SALVO – Inter Clubs located in Abruzzo came together for a special afternoon organised by the Inter Club Coordination Centre recently.
The event was very well attended with members from all over the region turning up. Inter Forever legend and Inter Club ambassador Nicola Berti was also present, taking photos with guests and telling anecdotes from his glorious Nerazzurri career. Berti was joined by Gigi Simoni, who presented his book Simoni si nasce, tre vite per il calcio ("Born Simoni: three lives in football") that traces his experience in the world of football.
"As always, Inter Clubs never miss an occasion to show their love for the football club," Berti commented, "this was the case here in Abruzzo too. Thanks to all the members for their warmth and making me feel at home. It always a pleasure and makes me happy."
Throughout the day, Inter Football Schools were holding open training sessions allowing the youngsters to get involved and enjoy themselves as well.
Inter Club San Salvo president Virginio Di Pierro came away very satisfied by the event: "It was a fantastic occasion and we’ll never forget it. Both young and old alike have had a special experience. Everyone present was delighted with the day and will carry memories of it in their hearts forever."
Aside from bringing members in the region together, the event was organised to raise funds for areas in Abruzzo struck by the recent earthquake.
"Once again, Inter Clubs from Abruzzo are at the front line of helping these areas and the people that live there," said regional coordinator Alfredo Amante. "The fact so many people came here is the best proof one can have of the dedication of these clubs."
