MILAN – Stefano Vecchi is back in the first-team dugout for Inter's Serie A Week 36 fixture against Sassuolo on Sunday. Ahead of the game, we've put together this set of stats with a bit of help from our friends over at Opta.
Inter and Sassuolo have met seven times in Serie A before this weekend and there's yet to be a single draw. The Nerazzurri have triumphed on four occasions, with Sassuolo winning three. Inter have put 18 goals past the Emilian outfit in those matches, 14 of them coming in just two games (two 7-0 victories, one at the Meazza and one at Mapei Stadium).
This will be the fifth time these two sides have faced off in the early Sunday kick-off (12:30 CEST).
Mauro Icardi scored his first Serie A hat-trick against Sassuolo, in September 2014.
Antonio Candreva scored the winner in the reverse fixture earlier this season and he's found the net three times in seven matches against Sassuolo.
Candreva's has hit double figures for assists in the league for the first time: he's on 10 at the moment – no one else has more.
The Italy winger is also the league's top crosser from open play, having put in 269 deliveries so far.
Marco Andreolli is a former Sassuolo player. He spent a year with them in Serie B in 2008/09, making 28 appearances and scoring one goal.
Sassuolo midfielder Alfred Duncan came through the Nerazzurri youth system and made his first three Serie A appearances at the club. He's won on each of the last three occasions when he's faced his former employers – twice with Sassuolo and once with Sampdoria.
Geoffrey Kondogbia and Gary Medel for Inter and Antonio Ragusa for Sassuolo will miss the game through suspension.
