MILAN - We look ahead to Fiorentina v Inter courtesy of some statistics from our friends at Opta. The Nerazzurri have won 64, drawn 50 and lost 43 of their 157 meetings against the Viola.
The Nerazzurri have put in 803 crosses from open play this season, a high across Europe's five major leagues. Only Roma have had more shots than Inter in Serie A meanwhile. No player has been directly involved in more goals in the Italian top flight this season than Mauro Icardi. The Argentine has contributed to 29 strikes, with eight assists on top of his own goal tally of 21.
Icardi has scored three goals in his last three league matches against Fiorentina. All of those strikes came at the Stadio Meazza, however.
Antonio Candreva followed up his goal in the season's first Milan derby with a strike against Fiorentina eight days later. Candreva has also played more crosses from open play than anyone else in Italy's top flight.
Marcelo Brozovic has scored once in each of the last two league meetings against the Viola.
Stefano Pioli has got the better of Paulo Sousa in both of the pair's meetings in Serie A. The current Inter coach beat the Portuguese 3-1 when in charge of Lazio and 4-2 in the sides' reverse fixture this term.
