SESTO SAN GIOVANNI - Stefano Vecchi was unsurprisingly disappointed after watching side lose their six-pointer against Atalanta at the top of the Primavera championship.
"We approached the game well and we were playing well," the Under-19 coach told Sportitalia post-match. "We had some big chances and struck the woodwork but then we made two massive mistakes and Atalanta punished us to take a two-goal lead."
"When we trailed 2-0 we tried to get back into the game by throwing extra bodies up top," continued Vecchi. "We created little, however. Credit to Atalanta who barely gave us a sniff. Then when we were 2-1 down it was only natural we might concede a third on the break because we got a bit stretched pushing for the equaliser. I expected the match to pan out differently but we made some big mistakes and it's not the first time this season either."
