MILAN - There are so many statistics to pick out from Inter's 7-1 win over Atalanta on Sunday. We crunch the numbers with the help of our friends from Opta:
- Mauro Icardi has been directly involved in 28 Serie A goals this season (20 goals, eight assists), a league high.
- Icardi has scored more than once in seven different games this term (six braces, one hat-trick). No player across Europe's five major leagues can better that.
- Icardi scored a perfect hat-trick (right foot, left foot, header). Carlos Bacca (against Torino) is the only other player to have achieved that in Serie A this term.
- Icardi struck his second hat-trick in Serie A (first v Sassuolo in September 2014).
- Inter hit five goals in the first half of a Serie A match for the first time since March 1964 (v Sampdoria).
- All three of Remo Freuler's goals in Serie A this season have come on the road.
- Atalanta hadn't conceded seven goals in a Serie A match since Inter-Atalanta 7-2 (March 1990).
- Inter hadn't scored seven in a Serie A match since the home win over Sassuolo in September 2014.
- Ever Banega scored the first hat-trick of his career.
- Two Inter players scored a hat-trick in the same Serie A match for the first time since Meazza and Demaria v Casale in September 1933.
- That was Atalanta's biggest defeat in terms of losing margin since their 9-3 reverse to AC Milan in October 1972.
- Inter scored seven goals from eight shots on target.
