MIRANDA HAPPY TO PICK UP THREE POINTS

While disappointed to miss the clash with Roma, the Brazilian defender says he is confident his team-mates can produce what's needed

BOLOGNA – Speaking to Inter Channel after the hard-fought victory over Bologna, Joao Miranda was asked how feels in the knowledge he will miss Inter’s home meeting with Roma, after picking up a yellow card during Sunday's game.

"I’m disappointed that I can’t play in Inter v Roma. It’s a very important match for us, but I have faith in my team-mates. We’ll put on a good display and look for the win, along with our fans," he said.

"When the game starts, I always look to win one-on-ones, as that helps my squad win games."

As regards Sunday’s win, the defender had this to say: "The Italian league is a tough one. Teams defend very well but we were focused right from the beginning of the match. We knew we could get the win at any time. The most important thing is that we got three points. This team is resilient when it needs to be; Bologna played very well."

Miranda also took the opportunity to praise Inter’s match-winner, Gabriel Barbosa, who scored his first competitive goal for the Nerazzurri.

"He works hard. He’s improved since he arrived. He’s young and there’s scope for him to do very well here. Now, with a bit more confidence, he will grow even more."
