FUMANE – The premier of Inter Channel's brand-new series, Welcome to Italy, went out on air on Monday evening.
The programme aims to discover more about the Nerazzurri stars through their tastes and passion for cuisine, art and other sports.
Samir Handanovic was the focus of the first episode, as he visited a wine-making company in Valpolicella, Veneto to learn more about the secrets behind some of the best-loved wines in the world.
"When I moved to Italy, I tried the wine," Samir explained about how he first got into wine. "I liked it and it became a passion. Because of who I am, I always try to learn more about the things I like. I started to ask questions about how wine is made and I learned to appreciate the special products that Italy offers."
It's vitally important to take care of every detail – from planting to harvesting and from pressing to bottling – in order to keep standards high. Samir had the chance to experience the entire process and drew comparisons with football.
"The small details always make the difference, regardless of the position."
