MILAN – Eder believes hard graft is behind Inter's resurgence under Stefano Pioli.
The Nerazzurri defeated Pescara on Saturday night to rack up a ninth consecutive win in all competitions and the Italy striker was asked what the secret to Inter's success is.
"It all comes down to our hard work on the training ground and the effort each and every one of us puts in on the pitch,” the 30-year-old explained. “When the coach arrived, he said we weren't short on quality; we just needed to put in that little bit of extra effort and help each other out more if we wanted to turn things around. We play as a team now.”
"We're working really well and we have to keep it up. We've improved loads and when you're picking up results as a team it helps you to improve as individuals too. Even those who aren't playing so much are important. It's not easy to string together seven wins in Serie A – you need the right attitude.”
Eder notched Inter's third of the game against Pescara just moments after coming on as a substitute.
"I give my all during the week then it's up to the gaffer to pick the team. What matters to me is feeling the coach has faith in me.
“We have to keep on this path now. We've dropped lots of points and if we want to catch up with the sides ahead of us we can't afford to let up.”
Inter's next league game takes them to Juventus Stadium next Sunday.
“We respect Juventus because of what they've achieved in the last few years but we have no need to fear them. We'll go there to play our game and it'll be a great match.
“Before then, though, we have another big one against Lazio in the Coppa Italia. We're taking each game as it comes.”
