UDINE – Walter Samuel insists the Nerazzurri are well set for today's match against Udinese and desperate to build on their strong end to 2016 with another win at the Stadio Friuli.
"We've been able to prepare well for this one. Udinese are an excellent side but we're ready for them. We've got the right mentality and we want to keep knocking out results,” the Inter technical assistant said shortly before the 12:30 CET kick-off.
Asked about the freezing temperatures in Friuli, the former defender continued: “As soon as you start running you don't feel it anymore. We came here a day early precisely so that we could adjust to it.
On club captain Mauro Icardi, who goes into the new year as Serie A's topscorer: "Icardi is looking sharp but I think the whole squad is looking good."
Finally, Samuel commented on Inter's frequent slow starts to the new year in recent seasons: “We're focused on the present and our determination to win. The past doesn't matter.”
