MILAN – It’s Throwback Thursday time again and this week we’re heading back to 15 December 2010, when Inter sealed their place in the Club World Cup final with a 3-0 victory over South Korea’s Seongnam in Abu Dhabi in 2010.
Dejan Stankovic gave the Nerazzurri a third-minute lead with a smart finish, while Javier Zanetti made it 2-0 just after the half-hour mark after Diego Milito’s cute backheel had teed the captain up to perfection.
Milito himself pounced on a rebound to put the result beyond doubt in the 76th minute, securing Inter’s passage into the final three days later. The Nerazzurri would go on to brush Congolese outfit Mazembe aside with another 3-0 win to clinch the trophy.
