PIOLI: "I'M RELAXED WITH GREAT SUPPORT AROUND ME"

The Nerazzurri coach tells Sky Sport 24: "My aim is to stay here as long as possible and take Inter to the top"

APPIANO GENTILE - Stefano Pioli gave a short interview to Sky Sport 24 before completing his media duties on the eve of Inter v Sparta Prague.

The coach began by confirming his side's desire to record three points on Thursday: "We want to bounce back after our bad performance a fortnight ago and the defeat at Napoli. We can no longer afford to get our approach wrong and we have the potential to play well. We regret throwing away our great first-half display in Israel and we must ensure we honour this competition till the end."

Pioli also responded to speculation in the media involving Diego Simeone: "I'm very focused on the job we're doing. I'm relaxed and I have the full backing of the management and ownership group. I would like to stay here as long as possible to take Inter to the top. We're looking to strike the right balance but we want to return to winning ways as soon as possible."

Finally, he answered questions about Brazilian forward Gabriel Barbosa: "He's very young and is working hard like the rest of his team-mates. He needs time to get to know the Italian game."
