MILAN – Javier Zanetti and his wife Paula were at the Mercedes Benz Centre in Milan on Monday night to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the PUPI Foundation, which has for the last decade and a half fought to promote and protect the rights of children and adolescents.
The evening, which was hosted by Roberto Scarpini and Gerry Scotti, including a charity auction raising funds for new initiatives, with the foundation’s "Costruire con Noi" [Build with us] scheme organising campaigns in collaboration with other bodies and foundations.
With Stefano Pioli and his coaching staff looking on, Zanetti got up on stage to thank all those who have supported the foundation over the years.
"We’re delighted – it’s a huge milestone to get to 15 years," said the Inter vice president. "This is down to the people that have always supported our initiatives. Thank you to the Italians who have helped us build a better future for our children."
Zanetti later spoke to Inter Channel about the Nerazzurri’s current form on the pitch.
"My career at Inter shows that you’re going to go through some tough times, but if you work hard and stick together then you can turn those situations around. We have a good, experience coach in Pioli. He and the squad have our support."
