AUSILIO: "WE NEED CONSISTENCY"

Sporting director chats to Mediaset Premium before kick-off: "We've shown what direction we want to take with our transfer business. We have a top-quality squad"

NAPLES - Inter sporting director gave an exclusive interview to Mediaset Premium ahead of tonight's match against Napoli at the Stadio San Paolo.

"It's a big game like all the other ones we've had to play recently," he began. "We need consistency and we have to play to win from the first minute to the last.

“Pioli has gone with the same team as Monday so clearly he feels these are the best players to start with, but we have lots of quality players as they've already shown that.

“The coach hasn't had an awful lot of time to work with the squad but he has to keep doing what he's doing – working with intensity, improving us defensively and working on getting the balance right. I see what he does every day and we're heading in the right direction.”

On Joao Mario and Gabriel Barbosa: “They're both great players with huge talent. Joao has played lots of games and he could well be in the starting line-up again for our coming matches.”

Ausilio also fielded questions about the club's transfer business and his own contract.

“We'll deal with the FFP situation in January and trim our squad a little. We've taken a step towards having more Italian players with the signing of Eder and Candreva.

“There's no issue with my contract and it's the last thing I want to talk about. I've been at Inter for a long time and I'm giving my all as I always have, but I deal with the players' contracts, not my own."
