MILAN – Born in Como on 25 November 1952, Gabriele Oriali, better known as Lele, has turned 64 today.
The archetypal defensive midfielder, Oriali played for Inter for 13 seasons, winning two Scudetto titles and two Coppa Italia trophies. In total, he scored 43 goals in 393 appearances for the club.
Once his playing days came to an end, Oriali worked as a sporting director, a role which brought him back to the Nerazzurri where he served for 11 years from 1999 until the glorious 2009/10 season.
He played a key role in Italy's victory at the 1982 World Cup. Currently, he is the team manager for the Azzurri.
Everyone at F.C. Internazionale wishes Lele a wonderful birthday.
