MILAN – Frank de Boer has thanked the Inter fans for their support, declaring their support "vital" to his team.
"It’s great to have the support of the fans because they really help us and their encouragement is vital, especially in the tough times," De Boer told Inter Channel, speaking at an INFINITI event.
The Nerazzurri boss also looked ahead to this weekend’s visit of Cagliari: "It’s an important match and they’re not an easy opponent, but we have confidence in the work we’re doing and in our team."
De Boer, who said it was "an honour" to receive the Golden Foot Award this week, went on to respond to Davide Santon’s praise of his management style
"It’s really positive when a player is happy with their coach. If you have the right philosophy, you can achieve your objectives," explained the Dutchman.
Finally, De Boer called for calm when asked if he was expecting his side to hit top form in the coming weeks: "Yes, but let’s take it game by game and just focus on giving our all."
