PRAGUE – Eder admitted that Inter’s approach had let them down as they were beaten 3-1 by Sparta Prague on Thursday night.
"Our mentality was wrong," Eder told Sky Sport Italia after the final whistle. "If you don’t start well in Europe then you’re going to find life difficult. This is the seventh time we’ve fallen behind – it can’t happen again.
"We need to improve in the league too but the most important thing is to ensure our attitude is spot on every time we walk out onto the pitch. It’s easy to be motivated for a match against Juventus, but we need to be up for every game."
The Italy international played down his lack of goals so far this season, stressing that he is just focusing on working hard.
"I don’t miss the goals if I ensure I give 100% every time. I’m working hard to be on top form and if I can do that then the goal will come soon. We need to have the right mentality because it’s important we pick up points against the so-called smaller teams. If we do that, we can get back to our level," said Eder.
