MILAN – Mauro Icardi and Eder were there for the inauguration of the Nike Academy Milano, not far from the city centre.
At the Centro Sportivo Piccolo Stadio Scarioni 1925, Nike has set up a pitch that offers exclusive services completely free of charge, such as training sessions with professional coaches and some of the best players in Serie A. Each session will concentrate on a particular aspect of the game – defence, midfield or attack – and will take place periodically.
For the first session today, Inter's attacking pair joined coaches from the club's youth set-up for a comprehensive look at forward play. The kids were able to carry out drills and directly benefit from Icardi and Eder's invaluable tips.
This initiative comes from the desire of young people themselves to access structures and equipment that will allow them to significantly improve their performances. This is now a possibility thanks to the Nike pitch in Milan: youngsters can receive training from professionals and football stars, taking on board their suggestions and tricks of the trade to improve in every aspect of the game.
The Nike pitch will also be the location where all the new collections from Nike Football are unveiled. The players at Nike Academy Milano will thus be the first to try out all the new products, from boots to shirts.
