EDER CONFIDENT FOR REST OF CAMPAIGN

The striker shared his thoughts after Inter Night: "A great evening with the fans. We've got the team, it's normal now that we need some time"

MILAN – Nerazzurri forward Eder isn't letting the opening-day defeat get him down and maintains that Inter have the squad to do well this season.

Like Javier Zanetti before him, the Azzurri international opened with some words of support after the earthquake in central Italy: "Yesterday was a huge tragedy," he declared to Mediaset Premium. "The thoughts of everyone at the club, myself included, are with the families, we're right beside them.

"Tonight was a great evening with the fans, you always want to begin the season on the right foot, but it's not a problem that we didn't win our first game. We've got a good team.

"After the first game there's the entire season remaining and we can do well. The coach spoke to us about the formation during the week. Chievo are a well-drilled side, but we can improve and that's the most important thing.

"We haven't had a lot of time to work with the coach. He's got his own ideas on how to play and it's normal that you need time to prepare the matches. We have to do it as quickly as possible.

"On a personal level, I'm calm. At the end of last season, perhaps I played a bit less but I'm sure I can do well having started from the beginning of the campaign with my team-mates. We can be successful."
