MILAN – One of the most eagerly anticipated moments of Inter Night was the appearance of Cristian Ansaldi, Ever Banega and Antonio Candreva on stage to speak to the fans.
The new Nerazzurri signings replied to questions from social media and directly from the crowd.
First up was Argentine defender Ansaldi.
"It's a privilege to play for the club where Javier Zanetti is such an iconic figure. As a player he was exemplary and he's the same off the field. I can't wait to start playing and be able to give my all for this shirt.
"I've always played on the flanks, both left and right, ever since I was a boy. I drew inspiration from some great names of Inter's past - people like Roberto Carlos, Maicon and of course Zanetti.
"I came up against Inter when I was at Rubin Kazan back in 2010, the year they won the treble. It was a fantastic experience to take on top-class players."
Then it was Ever Banega's turn to address his new supporters.
"My aim with Inter is to go as far as possible in every competition. I know it won't be easy but we'll try to win them all.
"The secret to winning the Europa League is being determined, right from the very start, to go all the way in what is a long and difficult competition. You have to work as a team if you want to be the best.
"There have been so many Argentine players at Inter down the years but Zanetti helped write some of the most famous chapters.
"I'm very good friends with Palacio too."
Antonio Candreva was the last to speak to the season-ticket holders.
"I remember playing against Inter as an opponent, with a full stadium and passionate crowd. I'm proud to be able to wear the shirt myself now and I want to enjoy lots of success here.
"Inter are the only club that's always been in Serie A and that makes playing for them all the more prestigious.
"I hope to score lots of goals and it doesn't matter if they're stunning or lucky, as long as they're important!”
