ZANETTI: "INTER LOOKED GOOD TONIGHT"

"The lads did what Frank asked of them straight away. Hats off to Candreva - he scored a fabulous goal"

LIMERICK – Javier Zanetti believes Frank de Boer's influence on the team was already apparent in Inter's defeat of Celtic – just days after the Dutchman took over the reins.

The Nerazzurri defeated the Scottish side 2-0 in Limerick in what was De Boer's first game at the helm.

"Inter looked good tonight even though we had very little time to prepare for the match,” the vice president told Inter Channel after the final whistle.

“The lads did what Frank asked of them straight away, which is to take games by the scruff of the neck."

Zanetti also had praise for Antonio Candreva after the Italy midfielder scored a stunning goal just minutes into his Inter debut.

“Hats off to Candreva for the fabulous goal he scored tonight. It was a great way to introduce himself to the Inter fans.”
