RISCONE DI BRUNICO – Jeison Murillo is back in training and can't wait to get stuck into his second season at Inter – a club he says playing for is a 'unique experience'.
The defender recently commenced pre-season preparations in Val Pusteria with the other returning internationals, following his involvement with Colombia at the Copa America in June.
"I'm working hard and it's all going well here,” he told Inter Channel.
“I've spoken to the new guys and I told them that playing for Inter is a unique experience because of the fans, the stadium and the city.
“Our target is to get into the Champions League. Other teams are strengthening but we need to focus on ourselves."
The 24-year-old then reflected on his first 12 months at the club.
"I joined Inter exactly a year ago and had my first press conference here in Brunico. I had a good impression of the club right from the beginning.
"We started off really well last season, then we ran into some problems but we still ended up in a good position. Serie A is a tough league and it's very different to La Liga.”
The centre-back made 35 appearances and two goals in his maiden campaign in black and blue.
“I think I had a good first season. I made a good start and learned loads but I want to keep improving.”
After enjoying a good Copa America run with Colombia this summer – losing to Gary Medel's Chile in the semi-finals – Murillo is hoping for a successful year with Inter and he signed off with a promise for the Nerazzurri fans.
“All the sides we faced at the Copa America were very good. It was a great experience to test yourself against teams with so many talented players.
“Inter are a great team and my message to the fans is that we'll give 100% in every competition.”
