NEW JERSEY - Inter had a nice surprise in New Jersey, as Patrick Vieira met the club's delegation and stopped for a quick chat with Inter Channel: "I spent a few wonderful years in a great team, it was a pleasure to play for Inter.
"The strength of that side was its character more than just its talent. When you have a team full of characters with ability, you can win it all.
"As a player it takes time to learn about the work that goes on at a club, whereas a coach's role is different. I have an opportunity at an ambitious club [New York City FC] and I can learn, I'm delighted. Winning one match is different to claiming the league title, I'm working hard and I believe in what we're doing.
"Football is growing in the US but it's still behind the likes of basketball, ice hockey, American football and other sports. It will take time but there are already much bigger crowds at soccer games than there were 10 years ago and that's great to see.
"Football has allowed me to travel the world, learning new languages and discovering different cultures. I've caught up with old friends here like Zanetti, Toldo, Sylvinho and president Thohir. Inter Forever is a great idea, I'd love to play and see some old faces."
