NEW JERSEY – The Inter Summer Tour has reached the East Coast of the United States!
Inter are back in New Jersey for the first time since the 2013 pre-season tour and will spend the majority of the rest of their stay in the Garden State.
Situated on the western bank of the Hudson River – which separates it from New York City – New Jersey looks out onto the Atlantic Ocean and is one of the smallest yet most densely populated states in the country. Inter will divide their time between Hoboken, which is among other things the birthplace of Frank Sinatra, and the Montclair State University.
Among the countless attractions of the New York metropolitan area, of which northern New Jersey is a part, the most famous is undoubtedly Liberty Island, home to the renowned Statue of Liberty. The island falls under the protection of the National Park Service and is universally recognised as a symbol of New York, although geographically it's located in New Jersey.
The Garden State has also been home to a number of sports clubs who over the years have won the biggest competitions in America. Ice hockey team the New Jersey Devils have won the NHL's Stanley Cup three times in 1995, 2000 and 2003. American football teams the New York Giants (who have won the national championship on eight occasions) and the New York Jets are both based in New Jersey despite their names. Lastly, Major League Soccer club the New York Red Bulls play their home games at the Red Bull Arena in Harrison.
