THOHIR: "US FANS ENTHUSIASTIC ABOUT INTER"

The president gives Inter Channel his thoughts on the team's summer tour: "Lots of fans here. Big games in International Champions Cup"

PORTLAND – After watching the squad train at the University of Portland on Saturday, Erick Thohir spoke exclusively to Inter Channel about his impressions of the team's US tour so far.

"There are lots of fans here wanting to see the players, lots of enthusiasm for Inter,” he began.

The Nerazzurri president then commented on some of the new faces in the squad and revealed his expectations for Inter's strikers this season.

"I'm excited about Erkin and Ansaldi. With them and our other players we have options on both flanks and that's important – especially as we'll be challenging on three fronts this year.

“I think with the quality of strikers we have they're all capable of getting into double figures this year.”

Finally, Thohir touched on some of the benefits to be had from the tour.

“We're here for the International Champions Cup because we want to play big teams like Paris Saint-Germain, but of course pre-season is important for getting the players working together too.

“We hope to be playing against the likes of PSG in the Champions League come next season.”
