RISCONE DI BRUNICO – Rodrigo Palacio believes his goal against CSKA Sofia on Thursday will boost his confidence for the season ahead.
"The goal gives me that little bit of confidence," said Palacio, speaking to Inter Channel after the game. "I hope to score some goals that matter in the league. We’re working hard to be in the best shape possible for the start of the season.
"We’re working really hard on fitness. It’s hard at the start but we’re already improving. I feel good and I need to continue in the same vein," continued the Argentine striker.
Palacio also had some kind words for Andrea Pinamonti, his strike partner for the day: "I didn’t know him before but I’ve seen some great stuff from him. He played well today despite the penalty miss – these things happen. He’s got a big future ahead of him but he’s still young and needs to work hard."
Last but not least, Palacio spoke about his objectives for the season ahead: "On a personal level I want to play every game, but it’s the coach’s decision. In terms of the team we want to do better than last year, challenge for the title and get back in the Champions League."
