MILAN – The Bocelli and Zanetti Night yesterday evening at the Expo Open Air Theatre, reopened especially for the occasion, was a huge success.

The international charity concert organised by singer Andrea Bocelli and the Nerazzurri vice president had the objective of raising funds for the Pupi Foundation and the Andrea Bocelli Foundation to support children's education projects in Haiti and Buenos Aires.

"Andrea and I came up with the idea for this initiative a year ago," said Javier Zanetti. "It was an emotional evening and I must thank all the performers and athletes who decided to get involved, showing their affection to us.

"The funds will go to our two foundations and those of you at home can send a message to 45592 [in Italy] to donate as well."

Several global music stars performed at the event, such as Laura Pausini and Kylie Minogue, and there were some massive names from the world of football in attendance, such as Pele, Leonardo, Claudio Ranieri, Arrigo Sacchi, Roberto Carlos, Clarence Seedorf and some of the heroes from Inter's treble-winning side like Ivan Cordoba, Esteban Cambiasso, Samuel Eto'o and club manager Dejan Stankovic.

Those who couldn't get their hands on tickets for this unmissable occasion will be able to watch it this evening on Canale 5 at 21:10 CEST.
