MILAN – Thirty appearances, three goals, several assists and a series of quality performances in the 2015/16 season earned Rodrigo Palacio San Siro’s applause and a new contract, tying him to the club until 2017.
The Argentine’s first goal of the season came in the Coppa Italia against Cagliari, tapping in from Juan Jesus’ cross to open the scoring. Palacio went on to find his best form in March and April, helping the Nerazzurri to secure a return to Europe.
His best performance of the season came at home against Palermo: such was his contribution to the Nerazzurri’s 3-1 triumph that the Meazza rewarded him with a long ovation when he was taken off in the 80th minute.
That match came just a few weeks after he had signed a new Inter contract in January.
"I love it here – I’m happy," he said after the deal was announced. "It’s fantastic to be staying at Inter for another year."
