MILAN – The Inter Club family brings together the many thousands of Nerazzurri fans that have decided to channel their passion for all things black and blue into an official fan club.
This week, we caught up with Inter Club Kosova president Dukagjin Ramosaj to hear about how Kosovo’s only Inter Club goes about its daily business.
When and how did Inter Club Kosova come about?
"The idea of opening the first Inter Club in Kosovo first came about in 2013 and by November that year it was already a reality. Having an Inter Club allows us to feel much closer to our favourite team. It’s created a real buzz and brought lots of local Nerazzurri fans together."
Is there an event you’ve organised that makes you particularly proud?
"Every time we go to Milan it’s a highlight – it’s always a unique, exciting experience. We’re proud to have been part of a tifo paying tribute to the current vice president Javier Zanetti, who was still the captain at the time. Loads of members from all over the place came together to create that demonstration of our love for Zanetti."
Is there an Inter Club Coordination Centre event that your members particularly enjoyed?
"Given where we’re based it’s hard for us to take part in some of the activities, but the Inter Club Coordination Centre has always supported us, helping us to grow and reach out to new members. When we visit San Siro they provide us with everything we need."
How do you get junior members involved?
"Our Inter Club in constantly working to get youngsters involved. We encourage our members to bring their whole family along because we think it’s important for kids to grow up in an environment like an Inter Club, so they can share their passion with their family. It’s great for them to feel part of a community, as if the Inter Club were their second home. I didn’t have that when I was young so I’m delighted our children have the opportunity now."
How else do you support the club?
"All of us members get together for the games – we’ve become great friends over the years. We’ve also been able to strike up ties with other Inter Clubs abroad, such as Inter Club Zofingen in Switzerland.
"Given that we’re the only Inter Club in Kosovo, we organise lots of events for our members all over the country. We watch most matches together in Pristina, where we’ve created an entire Nerazzurri zone in a sports bar! Despite being based a long way away, we’re always trying to organise trips to Milan to cheer our team on in the flesh."
