MILAN – Marco Sala’s Giovanissimi Regionali B side are preparing to take part in the 15th Niccolo Galli Memorial Cup, in honour of the Italian defender killed in a road accident in 2001 at the age of 17.
Having won the cup for two years running, the Nerazzurri will begin their campaign against Empoli on Friday at 16:30 CEST before taking on Lucchese and then Atalanta on Saturday. Sala’s youngsters will play their final group-stage match against Roma on Sunday at 10:00 CEST.
The other group features Bologna, Fiorentina, Juventus, AC Milan and Olimpia Firenze. The top team from each group will qualify for the final, to be played on Sunday at 16:30 CEST, with the third-place playoff kicking off at 15:30 CEST.
