AUSILIO: "WE HAVE AMBITIONS AND PLANS"

The Nerazzurri sporting director gave an exclusive interview to Mediaset Premium just before kick-off

REGGIO EMILIA – Piero Ausilio spoke to Italian television channel Mediaset Premium shortly before kick-off in Sassuolo v Inter.

"Zlatan Ibrahimovic? I don't even know who is in the market for him. It's not our problem and this isn't because of technical or financial issues, we already have our centre-forward."

Ausilio also responded to Roberto Mancini's comments in his pre-match news conference: "It's been a media reaction more than anything else. I speak with the coach every day and he said things that we frequently talk about.

"We're discussing our plans and there are difficulties to bear in mind relating to UEFA's parameters. We're aware of that and we have to be clear with everybody. We cannot go into hiding."

The question of the transfer market was also raised: "The squad we have now is good. We don't intend on changing loads of players. We'll do our transfer business expecting that there won't be a massive turnover.

"We have plans and ambitions, we will start mapping out the next season in the near future. We want to work hard and use our experience to do well with this squad. This is a young group of players and they'll be better next year because of the experience they've picked up this season."

Finally, Inter's sporting director responded to Samir Handanovic's comments on the Champions League: "Every player wants to perform in the Champions League but you have to be honest. We won't begin next season looking at the teams around us. We want to be competitive from day one with a better squad than we have this season."
