D'AMBROSIO: "WE SHOULD HAVE KILLED IT OFF SOONER"

The Italian full-back on Inter's return to the European stage: "Two years ago the Europa League was good for me. Hopefully we can win something soon"

MILAN - Danilo D'Ambrosio stopped for a chat with Inter Channel after helping the Nerazzurri beat Empoli on Saturday night.

"It was a game of two halves. I think we should have killed the game off earlier because in matches like this there's always a risk you might concede a late equaliser," he explained.

"It's certainly been a good season because we've qualified for Europe. We'll try to do even better next year. I made a slow start personally this year but I just kept plugging away, trying to impress the gaffer in training to earn my place in the team.

"Two years ago the Europa League was good for me. Hopefully we can win something soon. "We need more consistency in our performances and our results if we want to aim for the top spots in the league."
