ROME – Dejan Stankovic has called for Inter to keep working hard as they look to finish the season on a high.
"Let’s keep doing what we’re doing," Stankovic told Mediaset Premium before kick-off between Lazio and Inter on Sunday night. "We want to produce a good performance tonight. It’s been a positive year for us – Mancini has done a good job with lots of new young players."
Stankovic was also asked about supposed Inter interest in two of Lazio’s players, Biglia and Candreva: "They’re good players with lots of experience. That sort of thing is Piero Ausilio’s job and he’ll work on looking for the right players during the summer.
"We have technically gifted players with good character. The mental side of things is very important – when you play for Inter you need to realise how important that shirt is and remember the club you’re playing for. Perhaps we can improve even further in that regard."
Stankovic also said a few words about former team-mate Diego Simeone: "I’m a great friend of Simeone, but Mancini is our coach for next year. I’m also good friends with Simone Inzaghi. It was always his dream to manage Lazio in Serie A so I’m really pleased for him."
